The Rural Alberta Advantage

Toronto indie rock-band the Rural Alberta Benefit balance rhythmic intensity with expansive melodies. Vocalist/guitarist Nils Edenloff, a indigenous of Alberta, Canada, founded the trio in 2005 with drummer Paul Banwatt and bassist/keyboardist Amy Cole. The group quickly self-released a demonstration recording, accompanied by The Rural Alberta Benefit EP in 2006. 2 yrs later they produced their full-length debut with Hometowns. While small known during its launch, Hometowns got a large boost when on-line music merchant eMusic championed the recording, declaring it the eMusic Choose album from the month for November 2008. The music group got another increase in March 2009 when it performed a high-profile display at South by Southwest in Austin, Tx, alongside among the festival’s most expected bands, Grizzly Carry. The hype about the Rural Alberta Advantage reached the stage where Omaha-based indie label Saddle Creek Records found Hometowns for reissue in ’09 2009. The group’s very much expected second studio recording, Departing, found its way to March 2011, and was accompanied by Mended with Platinum in 2014, both on Saddle Creek. They both got on Billboard’s impartial and Heatseekers recording charts. In Sept 2016, Cole announced that she was departing the music group. Robin Hatch became a member of the lineup with time to help check new material on the highway for album number 4, including the lead one “White Lighting.”
