The Gossips made one well-regarded garage area single, “Keep Me personally Now,” for the tiny Gemcor label in mid-1965. Of the numerous obscure “Louie Louie” ripoffs which have been documented over time, “Keep Me Right now” is among the best of these, having a raunchy vocal and blistering acoustic guitar break. A slower and much less distinctive pop-rock track, “Without Her,” made an appearance around the flipside. “Keep Me Right now” had small impact, though it was utilized within a McDonald’s industrial. “Keep Me Right now” was initially reissued around the compilation Highs in the Mid-Sixties Vol. 1, and around the Nuggets package set. Its much less unforgettable B-side arrived on Rhino’s Nuggets Quantity Four: Pop Component Two compilation LP in 1984.
