The Rubaiyats had a unitary for the Sansu label in 1966. Both edges, “Omar Khayyam” and “Tomorrow,” had been compiled by Allen Toussaint and both are New Orleans spirit with duo male vocals; “Omar Khayyam” displays an up-tempo Motown impact and “Tomorrow” is a lot sultrier. It’s been speculated which the Rubaiyats had been Allen Toussaint himself and Willie Harper and exactly like the duo of Willie & Allen, who also do a unitary for Sansu in 1966. Both edges from the Rubaiyats’ one — and both edges of Willie & Allen’s one, aswell — are on the Sundazed compilation Obtain Low Down!: The Spirit of New Orleans ’65-’67.
