The Rock ‘n’ Rollers

Prior to the String-A-Longs documented their number 3 instrumental hit “Wheels” in 1960, they released singles under two different names. Their 1958 debut arrived when they had been referred to as the Rock and roll ‘n’ Rollers; their 1959 follow-up arrived after they’d transformed their name towards the Leen Teenagers. The Rock and roll ‘n’ Rollers’ lone single, released on Ven in 1958, highlighted a fairly solid, slightly Pal Holly-like rockabilly amount over the A-side (“FOR YOU PERSONALLY”) and a drippy ballad (“‘Boy!’ I BELIEVE It’s REALLY LIKE”) over the turn. Both sides from the 45 had been reissued over the String-A-Longs Compact disc compilation The Tex-Mex Teenager Magic from the String-A-Longs.
