The Rivieras

The careers of Englewood, NJ, natives Homer Dunn, Andy Jones, Ronald Allen, and Charles Make hadn’t reached initial base if they fulfilled manager of an organization called the Avons, who christened them the Four Arts because they popular pop songs. After Warren Lanier rediscovered the quartet, he renamed them the Un Rivieras, though they continued to be unrecorded until Jones fulfilled William Repair, the manager from the Ames Brothers. Repair organized an audition with Marvin Cane and George Paxton, the owners of Coed Information, and the Un Rivieras had been off and operating. They lowered the “Un,” and debuted as the Rivieras with “I Count number Every Celebrity,” which moved into the pop graphs at quantity 73 in 1958. Great management held them working, acquiring them as significantly western as Chicago. Their biggest strike, “Moonlight Serenade,” reached quantity 47 in 1959. “Our Like” produced no actions, but their 4th launch, “Since I Produced You Cry,” dented the pop graphs at quantity 93 in 1960. Four following produces — “Moonlight Cocktails,” “MY PAL,” “Stay static in My Center,” and “Un Dorado” — went undetected. Nevertheless, “Moonlight Cocktails” along with “Moonlight Serenade” became well-known choices on beach-music compilation albums. Coed released two LPs from the group, My Silent Like and Scarlet Hour, but following the label folded in 1961, the Rivieras quickly faded in to the moonlight. In 1992, Relic released the compilation Moonlight Cocktails on Compact disc.
