The Rising Storm

While still at prep college within the mid-’60s, this Fresh England group recorded among the rarest & most respected garage area music group albums, divided similarly between outside and self-penned materials. This work was recognized from a great many other recordings of the type not with the reputable covers (of materials by Them, Wilson Pickett, Appreciate, and fellow Boston garage area bands the Remains to be as well as the Rockin’ Ramrods), but by their gorgeous, haunting first folk-rock ballads. Disbanding upon graduation, these were rediscovered by hardcore ’60s enthusiasts over 15 years afterwards, and re-formed to get a live documenting at their alma mater (the Phillips Academy in Andover, MA) in the first ’80s. The Increasing Storm have continued to be intermittently mixed up in years since, reuniting for membership and festival performances in both USA and Europe through the ’90s and in to the brand-new millennium, and launching the record Second Wind for the Arf! Arf! label in 1998.
