The Rhythmagic Orchestra

The Rhythmagic Orchestra was founded by Nostalgia 77’s Benedic Lamdin and Sofrito’s Hugo Mendez like a collaborative project that involved the latest young players within the U.K.’s jazz picture and Cuban percussionists. It pulls its members through the Nostalgia 77 Octet, the Plumstead Radical Golf club, the Heliocentrics, the Alex Wilson Music group, Jazz Jamaica, and Ska Cubano. The machine combines traditional preparations — using Cuban bata drums — with a fresh method of Latin jazz via the first 21st hundred years sound of London’s jazz, globe, and dance music moments. Their self-titled debut recording was released within the Difficult Ark imprint, and will pay tribute towards the pioneers from the Afro-Cuban jazz fusion that occurred in the past due 1940s in the collaborations of bebop maestros Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker, and Cuban big-band market leaders Chano Pozo and Machito, with refreshing innovations and fresh routes to non-Western music.
