The Relatives

An organization that fuses gospel, funk, and psychedelic spirit, the Loved ones were shaped in 1970 by Dallas, Tx natives Reverend Gean Western world and Reverend Tommie Western world. While they released some singles that produced some effect on an area level, these were known even more for their shows and opened up for famous brands the Staple Performers as well as the Five Blind Children of Mississippi. After the ’70s provided way towards the ’80s, the group proceeded to go inactive but resumed in the wake of DON’T ALLOW Me Fall, a compilation released by Large Light in ’09 2009. They agreed upon to the Yep Roc label and documented their first record, The Electric Phrase, with Spoon’s Jim Eno as manufacturer and Zach Ernst, previously of Dark Joe Lewis, on electric guitar.
