The Red & the Black

The Brooklyn, NY indie music group the Crimson & the Dark came together in summer time 2001 with ex-Haywood music artists Rob Viola (drums) and Jeff Paretchan (bass), Tim Lauben (vocals/acoustic guitar), and Mike Esper (acoustic guitar/vocals). They required their name from a Robert Stendhal book, but the music group loves to joke it originated from a Blue ?-yster Cult track from the same name. Each have been in various rings during the period of the ’90s and had been particularly inspired from the no-wave motion led by Steve Albini and so on. Shortly after arriving together, the Crimson & the Dark authorized with Haywood’s previous distributor, the Self-Starter Basis, and immediately going into Fire Resistant Studios in Brooklyn. They became a member of Adam Lasus (Helium, Gigolo Aunts, Matt Keating) for his or her debut recording; the outcome, the Programs for Next 12 months EP, made an appearance in Sept 2002.
