The Portobello Explosion

The Portobello Explosion were basically an extension from the Mirage, a little-known Uk pop/rock/light psychedelic music group that released seven singles between 1965 and 1968. The Mirage finished when drummer David Hynes and guitarist/lead vocalist Dee Murray still left to become listed on the Spencer Davis Group in past due 1968. In springtime 1969, Hynes still left the Spencer Davis Group and rejoined the various other members from the Mirage, perhaps with Murray also in tow (it isn’t very clear from existing documents), to create the Portobello Explosion, who do a unitary for Carnaby in 1969, “WE ARE ABLE TO Fly”/”Hot Smoke cigarettes & Sassafras.” The A-side, a David Hynes first, can be inconsequential, light, flowery psychedelic pop; the B-side can be an inconsequential cover from the well-known Bubble Puppy strike. Both tracks are on the Mirage compilation Compact disc You CAN NOT BE Serious.
