The PoPo

Philadelphia’s The PoPo boast they are the inventors of “post-hip hop”; if which means fusing lo-fi post-punk, basic electronics, and periodic globe music flairs (affected from the band’s Middle Eastern origins) with sort of duel chat/singing assault — then Okay. Made up of Pops Ghostly, Fullscreen, Blue Bishi and Hamstar, the quartet authorized with Buddyhead Information in August 2006. Soon after performing in the label’s CMJ display that Oct, the PoPo released their self-titled debut, that was written and documented in “The Zombie Cave” (aka the band’s cellar).
