Angular, distortion-kissed indie rockers the Poison Control Middle came together in the first 2000s with Patrick R. Tape Fleming, Devin W. Frank, Joseph P. Terry, and Donald Ephraim Curtis III. Hailing from the faculty city of Ames, IA, the Poison Control Middle gained a solid local pursuing with a smart garage rock audio that nodded to affects like Archers of Loaf and Led by Voices and welcomed evaluations to contemporaries like Tapes ‘n Tapes as well as the Subjects. Within the six-year period between 2001 and 2007, the group individually released many EPs and singles, toured the U.S., produced two appearances in the CMJ Music Marathon, was presented on NPR, and finally found a house around the Minneapolis-based label Afternoon Information. Their debut full-length, A Collage of Impressions, premiered in nov 2007, along with a break up solitary with indie pop veterans the Apples in Stereo system followed quickly thereafter. After some touring behind the recording, the users of the group (aside from Fleming) finished up departing Ames and shifting to different cities.
