The Playtones

First-place winners of the truth tv program Dansbandskampen 2009, the Playtones certainly are a Swedish dansband using a rockabilly design who made their chart-topping record debut with Rock and roll ‘n’ Move Dance Party. Founded in 2008 in Kallinge, Sweden, the music group is made up of Stefan Jonasson (vocals, piano), Andreas Carlsson (electric guitar), Peter Andersson (metal electric guitar), Mattias Schertell (bass), and Per Sennerhall (drums). Their affects consist of Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Cost, and Johnny Money. Ahead of founding the Playtones in 2008, Jonasson was the bandleader of Boppin’ Steve & the Playtones, a rockabilly cover music group that released a few albums separately in the middle-2000s. These albums, I’m burning (2002) and Mr. Big (2004), had been afterwards reissued. The Playtones increased to popularity on the display Dansbandskampen 2009, which they completed in initial place with 39 percent from the vote, well before second-place runners-up Titanix. In colaboration with Common Music, the music group produced its full-length recording debut with Rock and roll ‘n’ Move Dance Party this year 2010. A variety of Swedish- and English-language tunes, Rock ‘n’ Move Dance Party topped the Swedish albums graph for a month.
