The Penelopes

JAPAN twee-pop outfit the Penelopes was basically the work of singer/songwriter Tatsuhiko Watanabe; the group debuted in 1992 using the album Inside a Big Golden Cage, adopted a year later on by Touch the bottom. Although by this time around the music group was mainly a Watanabe single project, he managed the Penelopes’ name for 1997’s Kiss of Existence; A LOCATION in sunlight, released that same 12 months, was the 1st LP released on Watanabe’s personal Vaudeville Recreation area label.
