The Paranoid Style

The Paranoid Design is a sprawling garage-punk-pop outfit built around singer and songwriter Elizabeth Nelson, who counts the T. Rex, the Mekons, and Elvis Costello among her affects. Her articulate vocal delivery is normally fitting for the band called after historian Richard J. Hofstadter’s 1964 article “The Paranoid Design in American Politics.” Nelson and her hubby Timothy Bracy from the Mendoza Series business lead a fluctuating lineup, occasionally numbering over twelve players. Produced in Washington, D.C. in 2012, the Paranoid Design were soon asked to indication with Club/None Information, which released the EP The Reasons of Music generally in 2013. Afterwards that calendar year, Misra released the EP on cassette alongside another EP, THE ENERGY of Our Proven Program. Another EP, Rock and roll & Roll Simply Can’t Recall, implemented in 2015. The band’s full-length debut, Moving Disclosure, appeared on Club/Nothing in the summertime of 2016 and included a cover of Wreckless Eric’s “Duvet Fever.”
