The Nice Device

Detroit popsters the Fine Gadget formed in early 2001 to bridge the exploding garage area rock revival picture as well as the underrated Detroit power pop picture using a polished, yet slightly trashy audio filled up with hooks comparable to the Runaways as well as the Breeders. Focused around vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Alicia Gbur, the quartet quickly constructed a name playing full-on, high-energy rock and roll displays with ferocious attraction and infectious pop affects worn proudly on the sleeves. Within a relatively astonishing move after her four-year stretch out co-leading the folk group Sister Seed, Gbur produced the Nice Gadget with guitarist Matt Lannoo, bassist Full Griffith, and drummer Nick Gerhardt to display the dynamic rock and roll & roll music she have been composing. Griffith’s tenure lasted just a few a few months, but after his departure, Atomic Quantities guitarist Zach Shipps had taken over bass responsibilities full-time as well as the group begun to play a lot more. Finally, in-may of 2003, the Fine Gadget debuted on polish using the Gotta OBTAIN IT 7″, constructed by Light Stripes manufacturer and Mooney Suzuki engineer Jim Gemstone.
