The Nextmen

The Nextmen certainly are a production/songwriting hip-hop duo comprising Dom Search (aka Dominic Betmead) and Brad Baloo (aka Brad Ellis). Blessed and elevated in Cambridge, these are located in London. Their music fuses U.K. spirit and reggae using a hip-hop base. They also work their own unbiased record label, Custom made Records, a jv with Fat Town Records. They started remixing well-known and underground information in 2000 within a string of mixtapes and so are famous for their two-man, four-turntable DJ pieces. Their first record, Between the Madness, made an appearance in 2000, accompanied by OVERCOME It, released in 2003, which highlighted such performers as rapper J-Live and reggae musician Cutty Rates. The 2005 reggae compilation Blunted in the Backroom included two Nextmen monitors — “Bloodstream and Fireplace” and “Little bit of the Pie.” The Nextmen released their third studio room record in 2007, entitled THIS IS Said to be the near future, on Antidote Information. The album highlighted vocals from performers such as for example Alice Russell and rap group Kidz in the Hall.
