The roots of psych-garage combo the Secret Lights could be traced back again to Salinas, California, where guitarists Mike Brandon and Luis “L.A.” Solano shaped the music group while still in senior high school. Crafting their personal distinctive undertake a Nuggets-era ’60s audio, they performed around their house turf for quite some time, regularly revising their lineup and finally liberating their debut LP, Teenage Catgirls & the Secret Lightshow, in ’09 2009. By 2012, Brandon and Solano got each produced the jump to NY, settling in Brooklyn and recruiting fresh people Alex Amini on bass and Nick Pillot on drums. Further honing their middle-’60s Kinks and Easybeats-inspired audio and adding spacy psych components, they started gigging around the town, recording a small number of EPs and singles before obtaining found by Daptone’s rock and roll imprint Wick Information in 2015. Their 1st launch for the label was the 7″ solitary Too Many Women/Too Hard to Bear, adopted in 2016 with a self-titled full-length LP.
