The Motet

Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, the Motet is certainly a big funk-, jazz- and Afrobeat-influenced ensemble. Shaped by drummer and bandleader Dave W in 1998, the Motet originally started being a collective with spinning members. However, because the 2000s, the group provides remained a primary sextet with different lineup adjustments and Watts because the exclusive first member. An exuberant, lithe clothing, the Motet is well known because of their high-energy concert events and cross-pollinated musical audio. It’s a audio they’ve captured on such albums as 1999’s Breathe, 2001’s Play, 2004’s Music forever, and 2006’s Instrumental Dissent. In ’09 2009, they released Drill down Deep, which discovered them incorporating consumer electronics into the combine and covering a small number of tracks by Fela Kuti. The band’s seventh studio room record, 2014’s eponymously entitled The Motet, highlighted a far more collaborative strategy than prior albums. In 2016, they shipped Totem, featuring creation from Soulive’s Eric Krasno.
