The Mississippi Moaner

The Mississippi Moaner was the name utilized by Isaiah Nettles when he recorded five sides for Vocalion Information in Jackson, MS, on Oct 20, 1935. Only 1 78 through the program was ever officially released, “Mississippi Moan” b/w “It’s Cool in China Blues” (a sharp edition of Blind Lemon Jefferson’s “Longer Lonesome Blues”). A reliable singer and an excellent guitarist, Nettles resided in Carlisle, MS (in Claiborne State), as past due as 1936, but his path vanishes from then on date.
