Biography
Experimental metallic band the Mass comes from Oakland, CA, and mixes enough levels of thrash, punk, and hardcore with nuances which range from math-metal to jazz into an avant-garde stew they prefer to call “indie-metal.” Founded in 2002 by Matt Waters (vocals, saxophone), Tom O’Donnell (acoustic guitar), Matthew Solberg (bass), and Tyler Cox (drums), the music group quickly parlayed regional acclaim right into a deal with Important Blast, which 1st reissued their 2003 debut, Town of Dis, and followed it making use of their sophomore Ideal Picture of Knowledge and Boldness in 2005.
