The Masked Marauders

“In an environment of sham, the Masked Marauders are truly the original article.” Following wake from the “supergroup buzz” from the past due ’60s (Blind Beliefs, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Youthful, Led Zeppelin), a tale review went in Rolling Rock about an record that didn’t can be found by an organization known as the Masked Marauders, supposedly comprising John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, and Bob Dylan, made by Al Kooper. Some a few months later, an record with the Masked Marauders made an appearance, causing a great deal of controversy. It wasn’t documented with the above called superstars, the final song over the album being truly a disclaimer proclaiming that truth. The tongue-in-cheek recording liner records also slyly hinted that it had been bogus: “Leading specialists now estimate how the music business happens to be 90% buzz and 10% bullsh*t. The Masked Marauders, bless their hearts, possess gone significantly beyond that. Their music demands no buzz. It transcends the essence from the bullsh*t that the public will pay millions every year.” Generally the record and idea of the Masked Marauders faded into oblivion. Paths from the recording possess surfaced on bootlegs, disguised as Beatles, Rocks, or Dylan “outtakes.”
