The Mankillers is really a Local American drum group that performs traditional pow wow music within the northern tradition. Its all-woman account comes from all elements of America, like the tribes of Apache, Shoshone, Cherokee, Sioux, Creek, Paiute, Choctaw, Seminole, and Yaqui. One of the group’s associates are Irma Amaro-Davis, Sawar Young-Tripp, Rainfall Archambeau-Marshall, Michon Eben, Raven Marshall, Danielle Estrada, Genevieve Markussen, Tina Toledo Rizzo, Fawn Light, Carrie Dunn Anderson, Maggie Escobedo-Steele, Apr Frank, Kristy Orona-Ramirez, Mateek Tripp, and Geneva Shaw. The group produced in 1991. A few of its associates came from students drum firm at Humboldt Condition University, while some originated from an Arcata, CA, drum group.
