The Magic Numbers

Led by Trinidad-born singer/songwriter Romeo, London’s Magic Figures mix the melodic experimentation of artists just like the Flaming Lip area and David Axelrod using the sweet harmonies of ’60s pop teams just like the Lovin’ Spoonful as well as the Mamas & the Papas. Romeo started producing music with drummer Sean nearly immediately upon shifting towards the U.K. from NEW YORK in the first 2000s. These were ultimately became a member of by Romeo’s sister Michele on bass and Sean’s sister Angela on percussion and melodica. The group authorized using the U.K.-centered EMI imprint Heavenly Records in 2004 and released its critically acclaimed self-titled debut the next year. Their sophomore work, Those the Brokes, found its way to 2006, accompanied by the Undecided EP in the summertime of 2007. Next, another full-length recording, The Runaway, premiered in July 2010, getting into the U.K. graphs at 46. After much touring schedule to get the record, including dates as much afield as Australia, the music group took a short respite, and bassist Michele Stodart utilized the break release a a country-inspired single recording in 2012. Influenced from the stripped-back character from the Runaway, the clothing regrouped for an acoustic tour in 2013. A 4th album, Alias, documented in the band’s house studio, premiered in 2014.
