The Magic Magicians

This Seattle band is a duo, but their sound is big. John Atkins of 764-HERO and Joe Plummer from the Dark Heart Procession attract on ’70s rock and roll influences, from the energy pop of Big Celebrity towards the glam acoustic guitar of T-Rex to craft-catchy, heartfelt tracks of like and hate. Shaped in 2000, with John Atkins on vocals, guitars, bass, and keyboards and Joe Plummer offering the traveling, up-front defeat, the Magic Magicians’ audio deftly crosses their contrasting musical encounters. The result is nearly as though the Dark Heart Procession made a decision to released upbeat, feel-good rock and roll & move. The Magic Magicians’ rollicking debut, Young ladies, released in 2001, was also the very first full-length from Seattle’s Suicide Press Information. A self-titled work appeared 2 yrs later.
