The Ludlows

Originally called the Ludlow Trio, this threesome — named for the Woody Guthrie song and featuring Jim McCann — was formed in Dublin in 1965. They quickly became among the three most widely used folk works in Dublin, following the Dubliners as well as the Wolf Shades, and were agreed upon to Pye Information. In 1966, their edition of Dominic Behan’s “THE OCEAN ALL AROUND US” propelled these to the top from the Irish graphs. The group disbanded the next year, of which period McCann embarked on a single profession. Their 1965 one “Yesterday’s Fantasy” was included on Castle Information’ compilation Troubadours of Folk: The 60s Acoustic Explosion in 2003.
