The Lovely Eggs

Indie rockers the Lovely Eggs were formed in 2006 by Holly Ross and David Blackwell. Following a separation of all-girl punk music group Angelica, who Ross fronted between 1994 and 2003, the vocalist/guitarist was willing to get back in to the golf swing of composing and documenting music. Blackwell, an associate of psychedelic drone clothing 3D Tanx, was the most obvious choice for Ross to utilize, not merely because he distributed Ross’ flavor for somewhat warped indie but as the two been married. Although located in their hometown of Lancaster, Britain, the Lovely Eggs performed their first display in NY before time for the U.K., where they pressed a restricted work of their first saving, Fried Egg Compact disc. Their mixture of quirky lyrics and distorted grunge electric guitar was soon acknowledged with radio airplay from famous brands Huw Stevens and Steve Lamacq before, in 2008, the duo was asked to BBC Radio 6 to record a live program for Marc Riley. In the same 12 months, the Lovely Eggs released DID YOU EVER HEAR the Lovely Eggs, a 7″ EP that was obtainable through Cherryade Information, which would also continue release a the band’s debut recording, If You Had been a Fruit, in ’09 2009. Holly and David after that returned towards the U.S. — where in fact the record premiered through Happy Happy Birthday if you ask me — to try out SXSW. Back the U.K., they toured with Eddie Argos and Dyan Valdés’ Everybody Is at the French Level of resistance…Now! and performed in the Indie Songs event. Their second full-length recording, Cob Dominos, premiered in the U.K. in early 2011 and once again resulted in the Lovely Eggs touring around the united states before they connected up with Super Furry Pets frontman Gruff Rhys, who created their solitary “Allergy symptoms,” that was released through As well Pure.
