The Longcut

Manchester, England’s response to Pleasure Division matches Fugazi may be the Longcut. Lee Gale (acoustic guitar), Stuart Ogilvie (drums/vocals), and Jon Fearon (bass) created the post-punk-inspired trio in 2002. For another 2 yrs, the Longcut honed their eclectic design by playing reside in and around their local Manchester. In early 2004, Deltasonic authorized the group, as well as the Changeover EP was released prior to the year’s end. In June 2005, the Longcut released another EP entitled A Calm Life. Dates over the U.K. with Nine Dark Alps adopted into early 2006, while an appearance in the annual South by Southwest meeting in Austin, TX, uncovered the group to American viewers. Plans for any studio full-length had been slated for nov that year.
