The Lonesome Trio

Led by Ed Helms, Lonesome Trio is certainly a bluegrass group formed a long time before he discovered fame as an actor and comedian. Helms produced the group with Ian Riggs and Jacob Tilove if they had been learners at Ohio’s Oberlin University. Helms played electric guitar, Riggs bass, and Tilove mandolin, with all three writing vocals in an organization they known as Weedkiller. They performed throughout their period at the school and upon graduation, each of them finished up in NEW YORK. Eventually, they began playing in N.Con.C., too, having on through the fluctuations of their several professions, including Helms’ rise to popularity in the next half from the 2000s. In 2013, the Lonesome Trio converted into a more critical concern, using the group playing that year’s Bonnaroo celebration, which presaged the documenting of an record. Over another few years, the group continuing to try out gigs — like the Newport Folk Celebration and various other Bonnaroo performances — and their eponymous debut finally noticed release on Glucose Hill Information in June of 2015.
