The Library Is on Fire

Having a name inspired by French poet René Char, The Library Is burning may be the brainchild of founder Steve Five. Sketching on affects the indie rock and roll from the ‘90s, the music group’s audio combines the natural guitar rock and roll of Dinosaur Jr. using the lo-fi melodies of Led by Voices. The music group began like a documenting task for Five in 2007, who produced the trek from NY towards the sleepy university city of Kent, OH to record in the popular Waterloo Studios with Led by Voices maker Todd Tobias. The effect will be the band’s 2008 debut, Cassette. Having to assemble a music group for concert events, Five recruited bassist Tag Shue and drummer Peter Sustarsic to greatly help provide his sonic eyesight alive on-stage. After a prolific season of songwriting, the music group came back to Waterloo to record their follow-up record, Magic Home windows, Magic Nights, that was released this year 2010 on (Complete the Empty) Records.
