The Liberators

A defeat quintet formed in Rugby during 1964, with Sam “Widge” Kemp on business lead vocals, Barrie Bernard on bass, Tom Long on business lead electric guitar, Tony Newman on tempo electric guitar, and John Wallbank for the drums. They installed with Shel Talmy for just one one, the punchy “It Hurts A LOT” b/w “You Appear So Great,” that was released for the Stateside label in 1965, before they transformed their appearance and design of music, Sam Kemp falling the “Widge” and picking right up the nickname “Pinkerton” aswell as a power autoharp, as the music group morphed into Pinkerton’s Assorted Colors, for a short career near the top of the charts.
