The Late Bronze Age

Cosmic improv unit the Past due Bronze Age group was among the many projects spearheaded by Atlanta-based Col. Bruce Hampton, the jam music group guru whose prior group, the Hampton Grease Music group, documented the 1971 cult traditional Music to consume (which, upon its discharge, demonstrated the second-worst-selling record within the storied background of Columbia Information). After dissolving his namesake music group in 1974, Hampton produced the New Glaciers Age (shortly re-christened the Later Bronze Age group) being a display for his flavor for anarchic, extemporaneous live show; founded using the objective statement “Anything CAN OCCUR,” the group frequently improvised new materials at that moment, and Hampton once approximated they’d played up to 10,000 different music. His mercurial strategy assured that the Later Bronze Age’s lineup shifted frequently, with just bassist Lincoln Metcalf (a.k.a. Ricky Keller) putting your signature on on for the long term; multi-instrumentalist Ben “Pops” Thornton was also a significant contributor towards the Past due Bronze Age’s two studio room LPs, 1980’s Outdoors SEARCHING and 1982’sIsles of Langerham. The group finally sputtered to some halt around enough time of Hampton’s 1987 single work Arkansas; his following projects are the Aquarium Recovery Device, the Fiji Mariners, as well as the Code Talkers.
