Once the La’s released their debut album in 1990, it produced immediate waves within the British pop picture, in addition to American university radio. Drawing through the hook-laden, buzzing guitars of middle-’60s United kingdom pop along with the post-punk pop from the Smiths, the La’s’ self-titled initial album got a timeless, traditional feel.
