Forming in LA in the late ’70s, the Knack (Doug Fieger, vocals/guitar; Berton Averre, business lead acoustic guitar; Prescott Niles, bass; and Bruce Gary, drums) had been neither punk nor rock and roll, but pure basic pop, standing up out one of the musical dross that littered the Sunset Remove.
