The Kiss-Offs

Biography

Since their Austin, TX, debut in 1997, the Kiss-Offs have induced their hectic, noisy garage punk much like famous brands the Grifters, Emily’s Sassy Lime, and Bratmobile. Along with a tongue in cheek stage present that included the usage of strobe lighting and pyrotechnics, Dwayne Barnes (drums/ vocals), Gavin Scott (bass/ vocals), Katey Jones (key pad/ vocals), Travis Higdon (electric guitar/ vocals), and Phillip Niemeyer (electric guitar/ vocals) released their initial EP, Love Proof, through Peek-A-Boo Information in 1997. Pursuing two extra singles, the Kiss-Offs documented their first record, Goodbye Private Lifestyle, in Dwayne Barnes’ garage area before having Peek-a-Boo Information discharge it in 1999. A nation-wide tour to get it would stick to throughout the entire year, including a short stint starting for the Rondells. Another studio room release, entitled VERY CHEAP, surfaced in early 2001.
