A Canadian garage rock and roll duo tangentially based away from Montreal, Quebec, the Ruler Khan & BBQ Present combine doo wop, punk, spirit, and who understands what else right into a loose, wild audio that’s drenched in pure raw energy. The duo in the centre of things can be Tag Sultan (BBQ) and Blacksnake (Ruler Khan), both previous bandmates in fellow Montreal music group Spaceshits, which disbanded in 1999. Sultan began a new music group (Les Sexareenos) prior to going single in 2002, playing gigs being a one-man music group beneath the name BBQ. Blacksnake, in the meantime, had formed Ruler Khan & His Shrines, and both former bandmates fulfilled up and started writing songs jointly at Blacksnake’s house in Germany, venturing out to play the casual present in Germany and Spain, with Blacksnake today billed as Ruler Khan. A debut record with the duo, The Ruler Khan & BBQ Display, was released in america on Goner Information and in European countries by Hazelwood Information in 2004. A global tour implemented, with another album, What’s for supper?, appearing on In debt Information in 2006. Another album, Invisible Young lady, emerged 3 years later in ’09 2009, also on In debt. This year 2010 the music group was chosen by Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed to try out within their curated celebration Vivid Live, occurring on the Sydney Opera Home in Australia. Following show, the music group announced a break-up, but had been focusing on music jointly once again by 2011. Several scant produces and semi-regular touring composed a lot of the band’s activity before release of the fourth album, Poor News Males, in early 2015.
