The Jazz Mandolin Project

The Jazz Mandolin Task was led by mandolinist Jamie Masefield, a onetime person in the Preservation Hall Jazz Music group. Produced in 1993, the improvisational ensemble’s primary lineup also included bassist Stacey Starkweather and drummer Gabe Jarrett; they released a self-titled record in 1996 before disbanding past due the following calendar year. Masefield then set up a fresh Jazz Mandolin Task lineup offering drummer Jon Fishman (most widely known for his function in jam music group icon Phish) and upright bassist Chris Dahlgren, documenting the LP Tour de Flux; by 1999, Fishman have been changed by drummer Ari Hoenig, with Xenoblast showing up a year afterwards.
