The Cork-based Irish Weavers certainly are a comedy folk band that formed in 1993. Their music is usually spirited and fast-paced and frequently includes nice helpings of laughter which have helped sell out live concerts kept in the U.S., the U.K., and throughout European countries. The group includes a trio of multi-instrumentalists. Barry Looney performs flute, mandolin, spoons, tin whistle, bodhran, and fiddle. Dan Kennedy takes on switch accordion, mandolin, acoustic guitar, and organic whistle. Liam Harris rounds out the group around the tin whistle and piano accordion. The group offers produced four recordings however the initial, The Britches Filled with Stitches, Corks Increase, is available being a cassette just. Weaving a Spell, A Jig a Run along with a Magic Pet dog, as well as the Irish Weavers Live on the Blarney Recreation area are also on CD.
