The Hylozoists

Biography

Produced and founded by Paul Aucoin, an associate from the Sadies, this group started in nov 2000. From the Greek philosophical phrase and therefore all matter retains lifestyle, the Hylozoists started focus on its debut record shortly after developing. In 2001, the group retreated to Seabright, Nova Scotia, where it documented at Nervous Program Sound studios. Agreed upon to Brobdingnagian, the music group released its debut record, La Nouvelle Gauche, in 2002. The Hylozoists continues to be compared to Surroundings, Stereolab, and Tortoise with regards to sound and build. The group in addition has performed on the 2002 Halifax Pop Explosion.
