A duo of singer/songwriter Julian Henry, who plays guitar, and producer Raymond W, who plays keyboards and handles the programming, London’s Hit Parade were perched for the divide between indie classical guitar jangle and dancefloor-friendly electronic devices for most of the career. A lot more than St. Etienne, the Strike Parade make basic the contacts between two designs often viewed as broadly disparate. Henry and W met up in the first ’80s and started producing bedroom recordings that they issued independently JSH Information you start with 1984’s “Forever.” A string of singles adopted over the following 2 yrs, including “My Favourite Young lady,” “SUNLIGHT Shines in Cerrards Mix,” “You Didn’t Like Me After that,” “Discover You in Havana,” and “I Obtain Therefore Sentimental.” Following a years-long silence, many of these singles had been gathered on 1990’s With Like From the Strike Parade for the U.K. indie Vinyl fabric Japan. Exactly the same label released the vacation single “Xmas Tears” afterwards that year, that was contained in two variations (one with Amelia Fletcher of Talulah Gosh and Heavenly performing lead) over the 1991 record More Pop Music, which put W’ keyboards even more prominently in to the combine. (A somewhat reworked version of the disc, with monitors from the first singles, premiered in Japan in 1992 as Light Music.) Perhaps through their romantic relationship with Fletcher, the Strike Parade installed using the estimable Sarah Information, which released their following one, “In Gunnersbury Recreation area,” in January 1992. By this time around, however, the Strike Parade had once again slowed up their result, and apart from the 1993 one “Hitomi” on Chicago’s Minty Clean label, the duo weren’t noticed from once again until 1994, when Sarah released the EP Autobiography, implemented quickly by the entire record The Sound from the Strike Parade, with which it stocks no monitors. Henry silently disbanded the Strike Parade following the release of this record.
