Longview, Tx garage music group the Heard was formed in 1965 by twin brothers Andy and Randy Clendenen, who also together shared acoustic guitar responsibilities in tandem with organist Billy Risk, bassist Expenses Lewis, and drummer Jack port Batman (yes, that’s his actual surname). Relating to a profile in the 1st issue of Dark brown Paper Sack Publication, within a 12 months the famously loud band was a reliable presence around the rural East Tx senior high school and community middle circuit, and with time, their bookings graduated to night clubs in Dallas, Houston, and Austin, especially some gigs at Houston’s Catacomb Golf club. Ultimately, the Noticed moved into Robin “Hood” Brians’ studio room in Tyler, Tx to record their lone one — cut using a tape-delay echo gadget known as “the Cooper Period Cube” that been successful in almost totally obscuring Andy Clendenen’s vocals. The crazed “Leave 9” today stands being a landmark of Tx psychedelia, although its lyrics are, actually, resolutely anti-counterculture. An intense cover from the 13th Flooring Elevators’ perennial “You’re Gonna Miss Me” curved out the one, released in 1967 on the main one Way label. Even though the record can be today seen as a traditional by garage area and psych enthusiasts, the Noticed dissolved immediately after its conclusion, as university and military responsibility forced its people in opposing directions. Both edges of the main one Way release had been reissued in 2003 with the Break-A-Way label within the 10″ The Noticed Meet the Just Types: Lone Celebrity Condition 60s Punk.
