The Good Ones

THE NICE Ones certainly are a trio from Kigali, the impoverished capital city of Rwanda. Adrien Kazigira, Stany Hitimana, and Jeanvier Havugimana are survivors from the Rwandan genocide. Their debut recording, Kigali Y’ Izahabu, was documented in one night time and released in the past due fall of 2010 by Deceased Oceans (who donated some from the proceeds to different Rwandan humanitarian agencies). Kazigira had written eight from the album’s 12 tracks. The trio has two acoustic guitars — one features being a bass (since it was lacking its two best strings on the night time the record was cut) — and uses tranquility vocals and organic percussion. Essentially a field documenting, Kigali Y’ Izahabu was documented and made by Ian Brennan, who spent some time working with Richard Thompson and Ramblin’ Jack port Elliott, amongst others.
