Biography
Shaped in Richmond Hill, Toronto, in 1969, this trio of brothers, including twins Brian Great and Bruce Great, performed around Toronto. They received their 1st big break in 1970 if they supported Wayne Ackroyd on his recording James & the nice Brothers. The recording, that was released on Columbia and aided by people from the Thankful Deceased, catapulted the group in to the Canadian nation music limelight. The Event Express tour got the group touring with Janis Joplin, the Music group, A DECADE After, as well as the Thankful Dead. In addition they performed with Gordon Lightfoot and John Hammond. In 1976, the nice Brothers released their self-titled debut recording, which was a variety of their traditional origins, folk, and nation background with a variety of rock combined in. The recording gained them a Juno Award for Greatest Nation Group, an award they received every year from 1976 to 1983. In addition they received a yellow metal record for product sales of the live recording in 1981. In 1990, banjo participant and guitarist Larry Great took time from the music group and was changed by a kid of the group, Travis Great. Renamed the nice, the music group continuing on until Larry came back in 2002. Travis Great left the music group to create his very own group, the Sadies. That same calendar year the trio toured European countries for the 21st period and released One Accurate Thing. They continue steadily to perform internationally with several folk music celebrations. Their strike singles consist of “That is the Kind of Guy I Am,” “Homemade Wines,” and “Midnight Trip.”
