The Gloria Record

Following 1997 demise of the Austin, TX-based emo group Mineral, singer/guitarist Chris Simpson and bassist Jeremy Gomez reunited within the Gloria Record. Favoring a far more acoustic, organic strategy than their prior task, the duo shortly recruited guitarist Brian Hubbard and drummer Matt Hammon to finish the lineup, issuing their Crank! label one “Sophistication, the Snow IS HERE NOW” in nov 1998. Following conclusion of a self-titled EP, the roster extended to some quintet by adding keyboardist Ben Houtman. Hammon shortly still left the Gloria Record and was changed by Jeremy Tappero for a set of U.S. travels, with Brian Malone supposing full-time drumming responsibilities in nov 1999. The Lull in Visitors EP appeared the next spring; 3 years afterwards, the Gloria Record turned up for an indie rock and roll growl and released their first work on the Area Rock roster, Begin Here. Recording periods for another full-length album had been ultimately placed on hiatus, nevertheless, as frontman Chris Simpson had taken an extended keep of lack and eventually resurfaced with another group, the indie pop clothing Zookeeper.
