The Giving Tree Band

Although formed in Yorkville, IL — a little midwestern town located 40 kilometers western of Chicago — the Offering Tree Band took its cues from bluegrass, folk, Americana, and additional southern customs. Brothers Todd and Eric Fink released the group in 2004, having previously performed together in a number of jam bands. Seeking to develop a “classic” audio that evoked a youthful period, the brothers shied from electrical guitars and centered on acoustic tools instead, developing a down-home audio that made space for acoustic guitar, banjo, upright bass, violin, mandolin, dobro, dulcimer, and ukulele. In addition they extended the group’s lineup to an impressive eight members, the majority of whom shifted in to the Fink home to begin some recording tasks. The 33-monitor Unified Folk Theory made an appearance in 2007, marking the music group’s self-produced debut, with Great Belongings following 2 yrs later.
