THE NEW & Onlys began being a collaboration between frontman Tim Cohen (Dark Fiction) and bassist Shayde Sartin, who started putting songs together in 2004. THE NEW & Onlys’ lineup ultimately expanded to add Kyle Gibson, Wymond Mls, and Heidi Alexander (who shortly left the music group); sketching from a hodgepodge of affects (included in this Buzzcocks, the Mekons, and Nation Joe MacDonald), the brand new lineup arrived as time passes at a grimy however sunny pop audio such as Saturday Looks Great if you ask me and Welcome with a lot of garage area rock blended in. In early 2008, they released their first documenting, the Imaginary Close friends EP, on the friend Kelley Stoltz’s label, after that released another one, “Chuffed,” afterwards in the entire year. Once they self-released the Medication Isle cassette, John Dwyer’s Castle Encounter label released their self-titled debut record in Apr of 2009, and a 7″ one, “I’ll LET YOU KNOW Everything,” on Dirty Knobby Sectors implemented. The band’s second full-length record, Grey-Eyed Girls, premiered on Woodsist in nov 2009. It had been accompanied by a overflow of recordings this year 2010: an EP for Captured Paths (August on My Brain); a small number of singles for different labels; and lastly their third record, Play It Unusual, that was released in Oct by In debt. The group started 2011’s result with an EP in Apr called Secret Wall space, released around the Sacred Bone fragments label. Also that 12 months, Cohen released an recording (Ruler of the night time) on Barely Art along with his additional band, Magic Technique, and Kilometers released a single album (Beneath the Pale Moon) for Sacred Bone fragments. THE NEW & Onlys came back in August of 2012 using their 4th album and 1st for Mexican Summer time, the thoughtful and fairly slickly produced Very long Sluggish Dance. The group adopted up with an EP, Soothsayer, in 2013, while Cohen and Kilometers also found period that year release a another Magic Technique recording (River of Souls) and single recording (Cut Yourself Totally free), respectively. The band’s 5th album, Home of Spirits, was compiled by Cohen while going to an isolated Az equine ranch and shown a laid-back Traditional western feel. It had been released by Mexican Summer time in June of 2014.
