Biography
The Freak Picture was hardly ever a “group” in the sense the fact that Beatles, the Rolling Rocks, or the Byrds were an organization — that’s, they didn’t really work as an organization or play as you. In fact, that they had somewhat even more in common using the Monkees or, even more correctly, possibly the first Grass Root base, in the feeling the fact that Freak Picture was whatever its producer-songwriter acquired at heart. The Freak Picture was a studio-created ensemble, the brainchild of Rusty Evans, a one-time Greenwich Community folkie turned manufacturer. Evans acquired crossed pathways with Bob Dylan and Felix Pappalardi early in his profession, before they proceeded to go their separate methods, and he eventually became a manufacturer and dreamed in the Freak Picture as a task. David Bromberg was the initial musician tapped for the “group,” sort of in-house psychedelic music group intended to record one record, Psychedelic Psoul. The main one record with their credit is certainly an interval piece, an attempt at making topical ointment psychedelic music at the same time when Columbia acquired nobody (apart from the Byrds and, in his very own way, Dylan) who was simply excellent at producing those sounds.
