Ideal remembered for his Tx garage rock vintage, “Dance Franny Dance”, the Floyd Dakil Combo continued to record several regional swamp pop hits including “Poor Son”, “Bogged Straight down In The Bayou” and “Shiver”. Documented at Dallas nightspot, the Pit, in 1964, from the short-lived Floyd Dakil Combo, “Dance Franny Dance”, reached the sixtieth slot machine on the “best sixty” chart published by a SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA radio train station. Originally released over the Dallas-based Plane Star label, it had been re-issued nationally over the Guyden label. Its’ inclusion in compilations on Tx rock is becoming essential. Business lead guitarist/vocalist Dakil acquired previously performed with leap jazz vocalist Louis Prima. He continued to record three singles using the Floyd Dakil Four.
