The Flower Pot Men

This British group was an outgrowth of mid-’60s pop group the Ivy League. Songwriting companions John Carter and Ken Lewis published, created and performed “Let’s Head to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA” and certified it out to Deram, who experienced an international strike with it because the Summer time of Like was simply winding down. The set released four even more singles, including one beneath the moniker Close friends. None were strikes as well as the group dissolved in 1970. Though these were incredibly derivative from the then-au courant Western Coast audio (specifically the post-surf Seaside Males), the group were able to produce some worthwhile songs that demonstrated a skill for smooth play a number of modes (folkish, intensifying, psychedelic, etc.) albeit with small rock backbone.
