The Fleas

The Fleas were a studio-only pop-rock vocal group who issued a unitary for the task label in the first 1960s, “Tears”/”Felicia.” Their 45 will be neglected today if not really for the participation of Rick Nelson, who was simply among the performers in the group, which also included a Glen Campbell, Jerry Fuller, and Dave Burgess. Nelson needed to maintain his participation low-key and unpublicized, as he was under agreement to another label, Imperial, for his single recordings. There is no danger, though, from the solitary blowing his cover, because it was a common early-’60s work crossing teenager idol pop with doo wop and novelty rock’n’roll. Both from the tracks could be noticed on Varese Sarabande’s Compact disc compilation The Shed ’60s Recordings, which also contains six music Nelson did using the same music artists (and Jerry Fuller’s sibling Costs Fuller) on 1961-62 singles acknowledged towards the Trophies, aswell as single recordings in the period by Campbell, Fuller, and Burgess.
